Another Gem.

Although a little short - it is concise and ideal for someone wishing to learn to draw the human body in a comic book art style. It would be an excellent stepping off point for someone wishing to produce comic books but finds human anatomy difficult. This manual and one or two serious anatomy books plus a little life drawing is really all you need to master the subject. The book really does present the body in an easily digested form. Allowing you to build the human form up - adding detail along the way.I found that using the techniques in the book, whilst observing a similar pose from say a photograph, enabled me to produce some very nice drawings. Without a model or photograph to look at it became a little harder to produce such good drawings. Anatomical knowledge is something that requires a lot of study to master.Even so, with just this book and some hard work, you will be able to draw people at the level of the majority of comics available today.

This is a very poor book.

I own over thirty books on drawing the human figure: this is, by far, the worst that I have ever seen. The drawings within are not of a professional standard and the lessons are all covered much better elsewhere (ie. Bridgman, Vanderpoel, Civardi, Hamm. I would not recommend anybody learn the complicated and, for any artist, important subject of anatomy from such a poor source.

Human Anatomy made amazingly easy

A nicely designed book. Hart has provided content on proportional contruction in many of the facial features and in the body height. Page 22 shows detail of recreating a head of the same character in different positions. Page 51 explains the diffrence in male and female anatomy. As an artist hart has managed to break down the human form into smaller easier structures to give a manakin impression. A number of poses are shown.Overall great artwork but not much good for a beginner artist as the drawings done are not easily recreatable in step by step ideas.
