21 cases for Inspector French - can you guess where the murderer makes a slip up before he explains?

This is my ninth Freeman Wills Crofts book I have reviewed. This book is comprised of 21 Inspector French short stories - all murder cases. The stories are all puzzle based and the aim is to work out before French explains where the murderer made the slip up. The stories are short and variable in quality - my favourites are Crime on the Footplate, The Suitcase & The 8.12 from Waterloo. Many of the stories appear in anthologies - especially in the British Library Crime Classic series - as this book is difficult/expensive to obtain it may be more cost effective to read the stories from cheaper anthologies. I would advise others to read these stories intermingled with other short stories by different authors as Crofts although a fluid and easy to read author is apt to write continually in the same style which may irritate or bore some readers. I would give this book 7 out of 10.
