information on the hit records of the second half of the 20th century

This is the 19th edition of Guinness' "British Hit Singles and Albums" - and it's a big book full of factual information concerning the music charts. It's over 700 pages in length, and the font size is rather small - so as to compact as many details as possible into this publication.It provides facts on every album and every single to ever enter the top 40 charts - i.e. from when these charts first began, over 60 years ago, through to 2005. Over 41,000 records are listed ... Additionally, the editor compiles the first 1,000 songs to reach number 1!There's a wealth of music information here. It's compiled like an encyclopedia - and is easy to access.Unfortunately, it's now a bit dated. As such, if you're after details concerning music during the past decade (2006-16) then I recommend a new edition (as this book is revised and re-issued each year). However, if you're after the hit records of the 20th century then this will be more than adequate.
